Probing Nitrogen-14 in biological solids
Despite its presence in a wide range of materials and a natural abundance of 99.64%, nitrogen-14 remains relatively unexplored by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) techniques. The main reason for this is the large quadrupolar coupling which results in very broad 14N resonances.
